More than 1,000 Wendy's hacked, customers' card numbers stolen

If you've eaten at Wendy's in the last year you may want to check your accounts for any fraudulent purchases.

The fast food chain announced Thursday that 1,025 of their locations across the U.S. had been infected with malware that stole card numbers, names, expiration dates and codes from customer purchases, The Associated Press reported.

Wendy's said in a post on their website that they have now disabled the malware. A list of affected restaurants isn't available yet but will be posted soon. Click here to view a list of affected stores when it is posted.

The hack was first investigated in January, and in May Wendy's said the malware was only in around 300 restaurants since last fall. On Thursday, however, they said nearly a fifth of their locations that had the malware.

Wendy's suggested that anyone who believes they may have been breached should seek fraud consultation and identity restoration services.
