Soon enough, the only thing that'll slow you down will be snow and ice.

If you're out and about this weekend in the Twin Cities metro area, these are the main road closures and lane reductions you'll have to navigate around or through.

Interstate 94: St. Paul

The Midway area will again be shut down this weekend as eastbound I-94 from Hwy. 280 to Western Ave. will close for a resurfacing project. The closure begins 10 p.m. Friday and will re-open by 5 a.m. Monday.

In addition, the Lexington Parkway bridge that crosses I-94 will be shut down for 24 hours, beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Interstate 35W: Minneapolis

More work in the massive Downtown to Crosstown project, and it means southbound I-35W will be closed between I-94 and Hwy. 62 from 10 p.m. Friday until 5a.m. Saturday. There will also be reduced lanes in both directions of I-35W from 43rd St. to I-94.

There's more: Ramps from 3rd St. and Washington Ave. to northbound I-35W will close at 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

I-494: Mendota Heights

Roadwork continues here as westbound I-494 will close from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday between I-35E and Hwy. 5.

The other headaches

Expect more lane reductions in both directions of I-35W from Roseville to Lino Lakes, and more of the same further north on I-35 in Columbus and Forest Lake.

To the south, I-35W in Bloomington will have lane restrictions between 106th St. and Cliff Road.

And finally, if you're traveling I-94 in Maple Grove and Rogers, expect lane closures in both directions between Hwy. 241 and I-494 from 7 p.m. Friday to 12 p.m. Saturday, and then again starting at 7 p.m. Sunday.
