Mother, grandmother arrested in Brooklyn Park toddler's shooting

Police are still seeking another suspect.
Publish date:

Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Twin Cities toddler — his mother and grandmother.

This comes a day after the unidentified boy was reported to have suffered a gunshot wound at an apartment in Brooklyn Park, where officers found "numerous adults" who "provided conflicting information" about what had happened.

The boy was given first aid and taken to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

According to a press release from the local police department, his mother, 20, and his grandmother, 57, were arrested "for their connection to the shooting and for covering up the crime after the fact."

But police say they're also looking for another suspect in connection with the shooting, 20-year-old Keyshawn Lemont Cosey-Gray.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

The apartment where the incident occurred is located at the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue.
