Motorcyclist, 66, killed in crash northeast of Twin Cities

He was pronounced dead on Wednesday evening.

A 66-year-old man has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Chisago County, Minnesota, on Wednesday evening.

The crash was reported just after 5 p.m. at 325 Summit Ave. in Center City, just east of Lindstrom.

Responders found the motorcyclist and began CPR, before he was taken to Wyoming Fairview Hospital.

But just over an hour later, he was pronounced dead.

He has been identified as Ronald Carlson, of Franconia Township. He is believed to have struck an unoccupied parked car.

He was wearing a helmet and there was nobody else injured in the crash. Police say that drugs, alcohol or speed are not factors in the crash.

There have been 164 fatalities on Minnesota roads so far this year. By the same date last year there had been 171.
