A motorcyclist died after crashing and being thrown off the bike during a police pursuit in central Minnesota, the Minnesota State Patrol says.

According to the incident report, Stearns County authorities were pursuing a driver on a Harley-Davidson around 9:30 p.m. Thursday for a traffic violation.
The vehicles were heading northbound on County Road 75, south of St. Cloud.
Near the intersection of County Road 7 in St. Augusta, the Harley veered to the right and went off the road. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, the State Patrol says.
On Friday, the State Patrol identified the man as 53-year-old Jeffrey Wiener of Rockville, Minnesota.
The incident report describes the roadway as dry at the time of the incident.
