Motorcyclist dies after striking deer on west-central Minnesota highway

A motorcyclist died after colliding with a deer on a highway east of Park Rapids on around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday. 

The Minnesota State Patrol crash report says a 42-year-old Park Rapids man was riding a 1985 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Hwy. 34 when he collided with a deer near Estate Drive. 

The man's full identity is expected to be released later Tuesday. 

The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, North Memorial Ambulance and Park Rapids Police Department responded to the scene of the crash.
