Motorcyclist dies in crash north of Mankato in Blue Earth County

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash north of Mankato Tuesday afternoon. 

The crash involved the motorcyclist and a truck pulling a trailer around 3:20 p.m. on County Road 5 at the intersection of 231st Lane, according to the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office. 

First responders attempted lifesaving efforts but the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not been released. 

The crash is being investigated by the sheriff's office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
