Authorities have identified a motorcyclist who died at a highway onramp in the west metro this weekend.
At the time of the Saturday morning crash in Brooklyn Center, 37-year-old Blaine resident Jonathan Harley Jones was heading onto northbound Highway 252 from westbound Interstate 694.
According to a State Patrol report, Jones lost control on the ramp, resulting in the fatal accident.
The patrol says he was wearing a helmet at the time. It's not yet known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Per the Star Tribune, Jones was riding with friends at around 3:00 a.m. when the group "noticed he wasn’t behind anymore."
The paper says Jones's family used his phone to track him, eventually finding his body at the scene nearly seven hours after the crash.
