A motorcyclist died after driving into a construction zone and crashing into a ditch.
The Minnesota State Patrol says Norlyn Stanley Nelson, 67, of Becker, was riding westbound on Interstate 94, just west of Highway 610, in Maple Grove at 3:59 a.m. Wednesday when he crashed and died.
Nelson "entered the construction zone, drifted left off the roadway and rolled several times," before he came to a rest in the left ditch, the State Patrol says.
He wasn't wearing a helmet and it is unknown if alcohol was involved, the report notes.
The crash temporarily closed a portion of I-94 early Wednesday, but it has since reopened.
