Motorcyclist killed after losing control at roundabout in Wisconsin
A motorcyclist was killed after losing control of his bike at a roundabout in western Wisconsin.
The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning on State Highway 35 at Main Street in St. Joseph Township.
Anthony Oellerich, 27, of River Falls, was westbound on 35 as he approached the roundabout, at which point the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office says he "failed to negotiate the roundabout and lost control."
His bike went over the roundabout, struck a yield sign, and landed in the grassy area in the middle of the roundabout.
Lifesaving efforts by paramedics at the scene were unsuccessful, with Oellerich pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office says he was not wearing a helmet.
