A crash on a highway in Bloomington left a motorcycle rider dead early Sunday morning.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 494, when a Honda CBR600 in the westbound lanes "lost control in the corner" and hit the median, per an alert from the State Patrol.
The Patrol says the Honda then collided with a Volkswagen GTI in the eastbound lanes, resulting in the rider's death.
He was a 37-year-old from Richfield, but his name has not been released yet.
The driver of the Volkswagen was wearing a seatbelt and did not suffer any injuries.
In addition to the State Patrol, the Bloomington Police Department as well as the Richfield police and fire departments responded to the crash.
Authorities are expected to release more details about the accident on Monday afternoon.
