Mpls. rapper P.O.S. to receive kidney transplant

Minneapolis rapper P.O.S. is scheduled to receive a new, functional kidney sometime in January, City Pages reports. A date has not yet been set.

P.O.S., whose real name is Stef Alexander, announced the cancellation of his tour in October because of complications with dialysis.

Donations exceeded a goal of $25,000 and have reached nearly $36,500 for medical expenses.

Alexander expresses his gratitude to fans and shows his day-to-day routine with dialysis treatment in a video posted online today:
