UPDATE 7:10 A.M.

I-694 westbound has re-opened in Little Canada, though there are still delays on I-494 in Inver Grove Heights.

Original story

Westbound I-694 was closed for several hours on Thursday morning after a multi-vehicle crash near Little Canada.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. near the Exit 47 interchange with I-35E, with the westbound freeway expected to remain closed until at least 7:00 a.m. and maybe longer.

Traffic has been re-routed via I-35E southbound.

At this stage it's not clear if and how many people have been injured in the crash, nor how it happened.

However, there have been slick conditions reported across the Twin Cities and elsewhere in Minnesota, with overnight snow and drizzle combining to create treacherous conditions on ramps and bridges in particular.

Among the other incidents on Thursday morning is a semi-trailer jackknifing on westbound I-494 at Hardman Avenue in the southeast metro, causing a 25 minute delay for commuters.

Meanwhile, westbound I-94 was reduced to one lane near St. Cloud due to a crash, with that expected to remain the case until 7 a.m.
