Multiple injuries in 3-car crash in Blaine, one critically hurt

A 20-year-old had to be airlifted to hospital.

Five people were injured, one critically, in a three-car crash in Blaine on Thursday evening.

The crash happened at 5:50 p.m. on the 2800 block of 101st Avenue, when a 17-year-old girl lost control of her car and crossed the center median as she traveled east.

Her car smashed into two oncoming vehicles, with the girl suffering serious injuries, Blaine Police said.

The 20-year-old passenger in her car suffered critical injuries however, and needed to be airlifted to a hospital.

Another passenger, aged 19, suffered minor injuries, as did the two drivers in the other vehicles involved in the crash.

The Blaine Police Department is investigating along with the Minnesota State Patrol and Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
