Murder charge filed after Mounds View man stabbed with scissors
A Minneapolis man is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly using a pair of scissors to kill a man he'd met through a telephone chat line.
As WCCO reports, authorities say both were found naked at the Mounds View apartment building of the man who was killed.
The accused murderer, Stephen Gooler, was found on the ground in front of the building after apparently falling or jumping off a third floor balcony. The Pioneer Press reports Gooler's alleged victim, Perry Paulson, was found dead in a hallway. A neighbor told police Paulson was bleeding profusely when he came to her apartment seeking help. He was dead by the time police arrived.
City Pages reports two bloody knives and a pair of scissors were found in Paulson's apartment. But the Ramsey County medical examiner ruled the scissors were likely used to sever one of Paulson's arteries and puncture his lung.
Gooler is hospitalized for injuries sustained in the fall from the balcony. He reportedly told police he blacked out after drinking in Paulson's apartment. When told by police that Paulson had died, Gooler allegedly attempted to cry without success and said "I can't believe that I stabbed him."
