A trio of North Dakota motorcyclists were cited for going 151 miles per hour – while on a highway with a speed limit of 55 mph, Valley News Live reports.

The three men, all from Devil's Lake, were pulled over on high-performance motorcycles around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, along Highway 57 outside of Fort Totten, North Dakota, WDAY reports.

According to the Bismarck Tribune, each motorcyclist got a speeding ticket, which carries a fine of $355 apiece.

North Dakota State Patrol Sgt. Robert Kennedy tells the Star Tribune the motorists pulled over immediately when a trooper flashed his squad car lights.

All three were also cited for reckless driving – a misdemeanor – and could face up to 30 days in jail, and a maximum fine of $1,500, according to Valley News Live. The station says a few other citations were handed out, including for no liability insurance. They're due in Benson County court Aug. 11.

Fort Totten is on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation, on the south side of Devils Lake. Kennedy tells WDAY high-speed motorcycle incidents have been "an ongoing issue this summer" in the Devils Lake region.

The three men were not identified.
