A college student from North Dakota whose body was found in the Red River nearly two months died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to an autopsy report released Saturday, the Associated Press reports.

Andrew Sadek, 20, was a student at the North Dakota College of Science in Wahpeton when he went missing in the early morning hours of May 1. His body was found in the Red River near Breckenridge in late June.

The school released Sadek's final autopsy report on Saturday. It did not determine whether the wound was self-inflicted; the toxicology tests showed there were no drugs in Sadek's system when he died, according to the Fargo Forum.

Sadek was from Rogers, Minnesota. After he disappeared, dozens of volunteers and law enforcement officials searched the area for him, particularly along the river.

Police revealed a few days after his disappearance that they had an arrest warrant for Sadek on charges that he sold marijuana to a police informant, the Star Tribune reported. Investigators said they had kept that information secret because they didn’t want to hamper their search.

No weapon has been found, and the school says the investigation remains open.
