Eagan's Nicholas David advances to final round on 'The Voice'

Nicholas David advanced to the final round of NBC's "The Voice" Tuesday night. He and two other contestants, Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott, will compete to take home the winning title during the finals next week.

It was a battle of the ballads as the remaining four musicians competed on "The Voice" Monday night. The Minnesota native arguably gave the most emotional performance singing Joe Cocker's version of "You Are So Beautiful."

The video introduction to the Eagan musician highlighted his visit home last week where fans greeted him at the Mall of America and the Happy Gnome in St. Paul.

David sang to his teary-eyed fiancee, Krista, who was in the front row with the rest of their family. Judge CeeLo Green was also seen wiping away tears, which isn't a first for him during David's performances.

The Pioneer Press says David was so overwhelmed with emotion, he had to take a seat following his performance.

David's odd were looking pretty good going into the elimination and some predictions proved to be true after Trevin Hunte was sent home Tuesday.

In a Los Angeles Times poll, Nicholas David was voted the best singer among contestants on "The Voice" and FOX's "X Factor."

Reality Rewind used iTunes charts as an indicator of who would likely advance Tuesday night. David ranked No. 6 on the charts behind Terry McDermott's "Let it Be" at No. 3 and Cassadee Pope's "Stupid Boy" at No. 1. Trevin Hunte's "Wind Beneath My Wings" sits at No. 35.

Buddy TV also predicted Hunte would be eliminated, but says Cassadee Pope will win the competiton.
