It's a nightmare Tuesday morning commute in the Twin Cities as there isn't nary a major roadway that isn't plagued by snow and ice. One driver tells Bring Me The News that the side roads and main arteries are like a "skating rink."
That driver said it took her 50 minutes to traverse westbound Interstate 494 from I-35W to I-394, a drive that typically takes about 20 minutes on a regular workday commute.
The worst of the worst appears to be in the northwest metro along eastbound I-94, where traffic is crawling from just east of Albertville all the way to the interchange at I-494.
According to MnDOT, roadways are covered in a mix of snow and ice or slush.
Bottom line, commutes are taking much longer this morning.
