Northbound I-35 shut down near Hinckley after 'fatal crash'

I-35 has reopened in Hinckley after a crash that left one person dead.

State officials are warning drivers that part of northbound Interstate 35 in eastern Minnesota will be closed due to a serious crash.

It happened Friday afternoon near Hinckley, where a stretch of the highway will be shut down "for an extended period of time" while authorities investigate. 

As of this writing, few details are available, but an update from the State Patrol indicates the crash was fatal. 

Pictures from the crash show at least two wrecked vehicles and a Life Link III helicopter at the scene. Authorities have not indicated the number of victims.
