Northern Minnesota fatal crash victim identified as man from St. Paul

His vehicle was found in a swampy area.

The victim of a fatal crash in northern Minnesota has been identified as a man from St. Paul.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Larry Duffney, 60, was killed in a crash in the early hours of Saturday morning near Bena.

Duffney's 2014 Chevy Silverado was found on County Road 8 , about a mile south of Bena at 1:43 a.m.

His vehicle is believed to have left the roadway before rolling in a ditch and landing in a swampy area.

Duffney was the only person in the car, with the Minnesota State Patrol, Leech Lake Ambulance, and Federal Dam Fire Department all attending the scene.
