Rybak hears Occupy protesters' concerns about use of force in arrests

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Police Chief Tim Dolan encouraged Occupy Minnesota demonstrators to provide any specific information they have about police brutality to the city. Rybak says an incident in which an officer knocked a television camera away from a news photographer appeared inappropriate. But he would not condemn the police department's actions during the arrests of 12 protesters Saturday.

Rybak to speak at Democratic convention

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, whose national profile has risen in the past year as a spokesman for the left, said that he will have a speaking role at next month's Democratic National Convention. He is one of five vice chairs of the Democratic National Committee. The DNC begins Sept. 3 in Charlotte, N.C.
