Officials are now investigating hunter's death as a homicide

Investigators also haven't been able to find Brisk's gun.

Officials are now investigating the death of a hunter as a homicide.

Terrence Brisk's body was found with a gunshot wound on Nov. 7. The 41-year-old from Belle Prairie Township died of blood-loss resulting from the wound, the medical examiner said.

Initially, the Morrison County Sheriff's Office said the person who shot Brisk may not have realized what happened. But on Wednesday, the sheriff's office said in a news release they're now considering his death as a homicide "based on information obtained thus far in the investigation."

Investigators are also looking for the public's help to find Brisk's gun, a Winchester Model AE 30-30 lever action rifle that's described as an older model, with a wooden stock and forearm and no sling attached. (Similar to the rifle pictured below.)

The sheriff's office says Brisk would carry the rifle in the woods while hunting, but they haven't been able to find it.

Officials believe Brisk was shot between 2:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on a wooded property northwest of the intersection of Hawthorne Road and Jewel Road in Belle Prairie Township, east of Little Falls, the sheriff's office said in a Nov. 9 update.

There's a $20,000 reward for information leading to the person who shot and killed Brisk. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office at 320-632-9233.
