One dead after another shooting in St. Paul

The shooting was reported in the early hours of Saturday.

Police are investigating after a fatal shooting in St. Paul in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The shooting happened on the 2100 block of Glenridge Avenue, in the Battle Creek neighborhood, at 1:15 a.m., with police receiving a report of multiple shots fired.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, had been taken to Regions Hospital via a private vehicle, but he died a short time after arriving despite the best efforts of medical staff.

At the moment, no arrests have been made in the case, with police canvassing the area for information and witnesses.

The Star Tribune has identified the victim as Kacey Feiner, who was shot during a "confrontation" on the street.

The newspaper notes he has previously been the subject of police attention because of links to gang activities.

It's the latest in wave of gun violence that has been reported in St. Paul over the past week.

The Pioneer Press reported on Thursday that the city had seen 7 reported shootings in the space of just 6 days, including the fatal shooting of off-duty firefighter Tom Harrigan and the triple shooting outside the Minnesota State Fair.
