One dead, one critical after evening shooting in Minneapolis

Police believe the two victims were involved in the same shooting.

Police in Minneapolis are investigating a shooting on Friday evening that left one dead and another in a critical condition.

Shots fired were initially reported in the 2200 block of Aldrich Avenue North, but officers were flagged down at 17th and Lyndale Avenue North by a driver who said there was a gunshot victim in their car.

As officers attempted lifesaving efforts on the victim, who had no pulse and wasn't breathing. The victim was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Other officers were sent to Aldrich Avenue North, where they didn't find any more victims, but around the time they got their, they received a call from Hennepin County Medical Center, who said a gunshot victim had just turned up at the Emergency Room.

This individual remains at HCMC in a critical but stable condition, with police believing both victims were involved in the same incident.

The identity of the victim hasn't been released at this stage. Police also nobody is in custody at this time.
