One dead as three campers are destroyed in fire

The fatal blaze happened in Rice, Minnesota Friday morning.

One person was killed after three campers caught fire parked at a garage in Rice, Minnesota, on Friday.

The fire broke out among the campers, which were parked outside the Janski Garage at 50 Division St. N., at 9 a.m. Friday.

When officers arrived they found the three campers, which were parked next to each other, fully engulfed in flames.

People familiar with the vehicles expressed concern that there was a person known to stay in them, and that they may have been inside one of the campers when the fire started.

Rice firefighters extinguished the fire, and in a subsequent search of the campers, they found a body.

The body was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for identification and an autopsy.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office says it doesn't believe there's any danger to the public at this time.
