One killed in Mounds View shooting

Police have "numerous leads" but no suspects have been identified.

One person was killed in a shooting in Mounds View Wednesday afternoon, and now police are searching for the suspect. 

Mounds View police at 4:27 p.m. responded to the 2500 block of County Road I on reports of multiple shots fired and a person possibly shot, a news release says. 

Police were also told the victim was in a white vehicle that had left the scene and was reported to be at Mounds View Boulevard and Pleasant View Drive. 

When police arrived there, they found a "male" on the ground near the vehicle. He was unresponsive with a gunshot wound. 

Police attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identified outside of police noting he is male. 

Investigators have "numerous leads" but they have not yet identified a suspect. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Mounds View Police at 763-717-4071 or Minnesota Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
