A "secret" Minnesota swimming hole could be about to get more popular this summer as it's about to be featured on the Travel Channel.

After scouring the country looking for America's "most surprising watery gems," the broadcaster selected the pools at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve, near St. Cloud, to feature among its ten "Top Secret Swimming Holes."

This is how the channel described the park in a press release issued Thursday:

"Just outside of St. Cloud, Minn., Quarry Park Nature Preserve has the highest concentration of quarries anywhere in the United States. The quarries' red granite, approximately 1.8 billion years old, has been used in famous buildings around the country, such as the FDR monument in Washington, D.C.

Now, the red granite cliffs encompass two fun-filled swimming holes. Quarry 11 – recently opened in the summer of 2015 – has its own unique sandy beach, while Quarry 2 – 116 feet deep – features jumps that range from 10 to 24 feet!"

The show will premiere this Sunday at 9 p.m.

Park has more than swimming holes

Quarry Park and Nature Preserve covers a 684 acre area to the west of St. Cloud, not far from I-94.

The swimming holes are but two of the numerous pools at the park, which is the largest in Stearns County.

According to its website, the park also has granite reflecting pools, mountain bike paths over "billion-year-old bedrock," hiking trails, trout fishing and picnic areas.

Three of the quarries are designated for scuba diving, while one of the walls is for use by rock climbers.

If you're looking for some other swimming holes in which to cool off this summer, Only In Your State has this list of eight swimming holes in Minnesota – which also includes Quarry park.
