One shot dead after uninvited visitors turn up at Bloomington house party

The shooting happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 21-year-old Minneapolis man is dead after gunfire broke out at a house party in Bloomington.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning at an address in the 8500 block of Penn Avenue South.

A group of residents were holding what Bloomington PD described as a "small social gathering" when uninvited visitors began to arrive.

The residents asked these visitors to leave, at which point shots were fired.

The Minneapolis man was killed, while a 21-year-old man from Eagan suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

"We are asking for the public’s help in providing additional information," Bloomington PD said.

"Any secondhand conversations or social media correspondences related to the party would be beneficial to the investigation."
