Oven explosion injures 1 at west-central MN pizza place
One person was injured when an oven exploded at a restaurant in west-central Minnesota Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 1 p.m. at Tasty Pizza North, located on Peterson Path in Pequot Lakes. The city's police and fire departments responded to the scene and found that the explosion happened when someone tried to reignite the pilot light on an oven.
One person suffered burns and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The victim's identity has not been released, but the restaurant, owned by Bob and Mary Peterson, said "Bob" was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center and is now in the burn unit.
Bob was sedated overnight to rest and had his breathing tube removed Friday morning, allowing him to speak on the phone for a moment, Tasty Pizza North announced on Facebook.
There were no gas leaks found by Pequot Lakes Fire Department.
