On Tuesday the Wild played their final home game of the regular season against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Last month, the team announced they would warmup in North Stars jerseys out of respect to the first NHL team coming to the State of Hockey.

With the team decked out in the vintage sweaters, Wild forward Zach Parise decided to go the extra mile and wear the same gloves and helmet that his Dad (and former North Star) J.P. Parise wore.

Parise lost his father two-years ago after a battle with lung cancer. His dad played in 558 games with the North Stars, recording 396 points.

So it only makes sense that Parise would score the first goal after paying tribute to his Dad.

A win against the Hurricanes on Tuesday will clinch home-ice advantage for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
