Passenger dies after motorcycle hits deer near Benson

A woman died over the weekend when the motorcycle she was riding hit a deer in western Minnesota. 

According to the Swift County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened Saturday at approximately 7:27 p.m. on County Road 15, just a few miles west of Benson. 

A doe and two fawns were crossing the road when the motorcycle hit the doe, sending the bike into the ditch. A second motorcycle also crashed trying to avoid contact. 

A passenger on the motorcycle that hit the deer was taken to Benson Hospital where she died from her injuries. She has been identified as 64-year-old Doreen Touhey, of Benson. 

The drivers of both motorcycles were taken to Benson Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries have not been released.
