Teen riding in bed of pickup killed in crash in New Ulm
A single-vehicle crash in New Ulm left a teenage boy dead Monday afternoon.
New Ulm Police Department reports that a pickup carrying was traveling east on Airport Road around 3 p.m. when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll on the gravel road.
A teen riding in the bed of the truck was fatally pinned when the pickup overturned. He has been identified by police as Jackson Bieraugel, 16, of New Ulm.
Police say a 16-year-old boy was driving the 1995 Chevrolet S-10 truck when it rolled on Airport Road near Highland Avenue. The driver and another 16-year-old passenger were belted and uninjured in the crash.
New Ulm Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the crash.
