The Minnesota State Patrol has identified two people killed while traveling on I-94 in blizzard-like conditions on Monday.

WDAY reports 49-year-old Judith Reid and 49-year-old Sean Ray died as the result of a four-vehicle crash around 11:30 a.m. near Barnesville, about 30 miles southeast of Fargo.

According to the incident report, a car, being driven by Reid, attempted to pass between a semi on the left and a plow along the right shoulder. The car hit the semi and the plow and stalled in the right lane. The car was then struck from behind by a pickup truck.

A third passenger in the car, 16-year-old Evan Ray of Minnetonka, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Fargo hospital, the Associated Press reports. The driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries.

Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow tells the Star Tribune that visibility was near zero because of blowing snow.

Traffic was diverted into Barnesville as the westbound lanes of I-94 were closed for more than three hours.

FOX9 says Reid and Ray were married and Evan Ray is their son.
