Another pedestrian has been killed on Twin Cities roads, this time in St. Paul Park.
It happened in St. Paul Park, with the victim a 49-year-old Roseville man, Phillip Lewis Cain, who was walking at Hastings and Lincoln avenues around 3:40 a.m.
He was then struck by a Ford Taurus, the driver of which turned around and returned to the scene.
The car following behind the Taurus though, a Saab, left the scene, with the driver of that car later taken into custody by police.
Cain was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither driver was injured in the collision.
There has been a spate of pedestrians being killed by drivers across the metro since the start of the year, with the incident on Friday marking at least the fifth death in just over a week.
In Roseville, two people were killed while crossing the street on Jan. 3.
The next day, Jan. 4, two people were hit in St. Paul, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old woman.
Another pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash in Inver Grove Heights on Jan. 5.
