Pedestrian dies after being struck by motorist in west-central Minnesota
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a motorist in west-central Minnesota overnight, just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The Minnesota State Patrol hasn't released many details about the incident, at this point only saying a pedestrian was struck by someone driving a Honda Civic westbound on Hwy. 34 near Milepost 18 in Dunn Township, Otter Tail County.
The crash report says the collision happened at 1:50 a.m.
The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Wadena, has not been fully identified. The driver was a 23-year-old man from Wahpeton, North Dakota.
This incident marks what is believed to be the 34th fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Minnesota roads in 2020, which is an increase from 26 at the same point in 2019, according to the Department of Public Safety's traffic division.
Dunn Township is located about 10 miles south-southwest of Detroit Lakes.
