Pedestrian dies day after hit-and-run in Minneapolis
A homicide investigation is ongoing in Minneapolis after a man died following a hit-and-run crash involving a driver and pedestrian early Monday morning.
Minneapolis PD said the crash was reported at 2:20 a.m. Monday on the 600 block of W. Franklin Ave., which is just east of the intersection of Lyndale and Franklin avenues.
A person at the scene of the hit-and-run flagged down officers moments after the crash, followed by paramedics arriving and transporting the victim to to Hennepin Healthcare, where he was in grave condition, police said.
MPD was informed late Tuesday evening that the victim, only identified so far as a man in his 30s, had died from his injuries.
Investigators have preliminarily determined that the man was walking to his parked car on the south side of Franklin Ave. when the driver of the suspect vehicle hit him, momentarily pinning him against his car before fleeing and launching the man into the street.
No arrests have been made.
