Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing University Avenue in Blaine. 

According to police, the fatal collision happened around 8:38 p.m. Sunday when a pedestrian was struck while crossing University Ave. at 85th Ave. NE. 

The driver, stopped at the scene after the crash, was traveling south when they hit the victim, who was trying to cross the busy roadway from east to west, Blaine Police reports. 

Lifesaving measures were attempted by first responders, but the pedestrian suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The victim's identity has not been released. 

No further information has been released and an investigation is ongoing.
