Pedestrian killed by suspected drunk-driver in Blaine

She was found unresponsive on Friday morning.

A woman has been killed in Blaine on Friday morning after being struck by a suspected drunk-driver.

The pedestrian, a 52-year-old woman from Blaine, was found unresponsive at Naples Street Northeast and Lake Drive Northeast at around 6 a.m.

Lifesaving efforts were carried out at the scene and she was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, which she later died.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a 42-year-old man from Circle Pines, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

He's been booked into Anoka County Jail for probable cause Criminal Vehicular

The investigation continues. At this time, the victim has not been identified.

It's the second fatal incident involving a pedestrian in the Twin Cities in the past 24 hours.

A woman was killed in St. Paul's Greater East Side neighborhood Thursday evening after apparently falling in the road and being hit by an oncoming car.

The driver in that incident was cooperating with police, and is not believed to have been under the influence.

And on Tuesday, a 66-year-old pedestrian was killed in Bloomington by a suspected drunk driver.
