He was hit by a Dodge Journey, which was traveling westbound on Broadway at 6th St. North.

He was taken to a local hospital and then to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he was pronounced dead.

The man's identity has not yet been released by authorities. The driver of the Dodge was a 48-year-old woman who has also not been identified, but is from New Ulm.

The incident is being investigated by law enforcement.

There have been 316 deaths on Minnesota roads so far this year, which is 10 more than had died by the same date in 2017.

Last month, when the Minnesota Department of Public Safety provided a breakdown of the 302 deaths that had occurred as of Oct. 22, it said that 29 of those deaths had been pedestrians.
