Pedestrian killed in Mounds View hit-and-run, driver arrested after second crash

A driver struck and killed a pedestrian in Mounds View, then sped off – only to be arrested after being involved in a second, separate collision. 

Mounds View police said officers responded to the scene of a reported hit-and-run on the 8200 block of Long Lake Road around 1:17 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release. At the scene, officers found the victim, a pedestrian, dead.

Witnesses provided authorities a description of the vehicle involved.

Shortly after, the suspect vehicle was involved in a different collision in an adjacent city. Police did not provide details regarding this second incident.

The driver was arrested, and Mounds View police say criminal charges are pending.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
