Pedestrian killed while walking along road, driver arrested

A 55-year-old driver crossed the centerline and struck the woman as she walked.

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide after a collision that killed a female pedestrian.

The incident happened on the 10600 block of Sherburne County Road 2 at 4:24 p.m. Monday.

Catherine Lynn, 69, was walking with a friend east of the north shoulder when a driver crossed the centerline and hit her.

Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott says that Lynn was pronounced dead at the scene, and her friend was not injured.

The driver of the car, a 55-year-old man from Princeton, Minnesota, was also uninjured.

He has been arrested and booked into Sherburne County Jail for probable cause criminal vehicular homicide.

The investigation into the crash continues, with a blood sample from the driver being tested.
