PGA warns energized US fans ahead of final day of Ryder Cup

Fans are ready for the first U-S Ryder Cup victory since 2008 today at Hazeltine National Golf Course in Chaska.

The lead isn't quite what the U.S. team had going into the final day of the Ryder Cup two years ago, but American fans are excited as the tournament enters the final day at Hazeltine in Chaska.

The U-S holds a 9 1/2 to 6 1/2 lead over Europe, heading into today's final round. To win the cup, the U-S needs to win 5-of-12 singles matches today. If the Americans accomplish that, it would be the first time the cup has been won by the U-S since 2008.

The crowd at the storied course is ready.

More than 50,000 fans were on hand Saturday for the event, one of them was ejected from the tournament after making a lewd comment to Rory McIlroy.

That prompted a warning from the PGA right before Sunday's final day was set to begin.
