Pickup driver killed in head-on crash with semi in Washington County

The crash occurred Wednesday at around 3:00 p.m.

A Wednesday crash on Minnesota 95 and Pillar Road in Washington County killed one driver.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a semi was traveling north on Highway 95 at around 3:00 p.m. when a pickup truck traveling south crossed into the other lane. The pickup truck collided with the semi head-on.

The crash killed the pickup truck driver, while the semi driver – a 43-year-old from Roosevelt, Minnesota – was uninjured.

The driver killed in the incident, identified as 86-year-old Victor Falkner of Forest Lake, was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the State Patrol.

There have been 37 fatalities on Minnesota roads so far this year, compared to 40 at the same time last year.
