Just 24 hours after an 18-year-old man survived a plane crash in Lake Winona, Alexandria, another plane crash was reported just a few miles away.

This one proved fatal, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, who said that the plane came down at Townhall Road and 10th Avenue Southwest in La Grande Township, west of Alexandria, at around 7:25 p.m.

The sole occupant of the plane died in the crash. No details have been released about them at this time.

The sheriff's office says it appears the plane struck a power pole before landing in a ditch on the west side of Townhall Road.
