Police executing a search warrant at a foreclosed Brainerd home found a pipebomb that had been fashioned from a flashlight and gunpowder, the Brainerd Dispatch reported.

Police went to the house after a utility company told them that power had been restored to the house illegally, and investigators saw drug paraphernalia through a window, the newspaper reported. They found the bomb when they went inside, and a technician defused it.

Police arrested Scott Jackson, 47, of Brainerd, the Dispatch reported. He was on probation for an earlier conviction in connection with a methamphetamine lab case.
