Police say they have identified the man and woman who are persons of interest in the fire at Lola on the Lake.

The woman in the surveillance images released by police earlier this week "voluntarily came in and spoke with investigators."

The man she was seen with has also been identified, but no arrests have been made at this time.

Police released the surveillance images on Wednesday, showing the two individuals next to the pavilion on Bde Maka Ska in the early hours of last Thursday, May 16.

One of the images shows something igniting next to the man, who was stood next to the pavilion's wall. This happened shortly before emergency services were called to the fire, which caused major damage to the building.

Police have not confirmed if arson was the definite cause of the fire, nor did they say that the two individuals were anything other than "persons of interest" in the investigation.

But the probe into the fire is being led by Minneapolis arson investigators.
