Police: 8 people shot in separate Minneapolis incidents Monday afternoon

This is the latest in a string of shootings in Minneapolis in the past few days.

Eight people were shot in separate incidents in North Minneapolis Monday afternoon, according to police. 

Police responded to the 600 block of West Broadway around 4:09 p.m., where they found four victims. 

The victims were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions are not known at of 4:30 p.m. 

"Investigators are on their way to the scene to ascertain what led up to the shooting," police spokesperson John Elder told BMTN

The incident happened around 2 hours after a separate shooting on Morgan Avenue, where four people were shot, one critically.

This comes as Minneapolis has experienced a rash of gun violence in recent days. A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Sunday night, less than 24 hours after gunmen injured 11 in an Uptown shooting.
