Police: 9-year-old boy shot in St. Cloud Saturday night
A 9-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Saturday night after being shot.
According to St. Cloud Police Department, at around 8:20 p.m. the boy was "standing near the main entry door" to the apartment complex he lives at on the 1600 block of 16th St. SE when he was shot.
Police say the shot came from an "unknown location" and witnesses reported hearing only one shot. The boy shot was he was bringing items from a vehicle into the building.
When officers arrived, the child was suffering from a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. St. Cloud Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance treated him at the scene and then transported him to St. Cloud Hospital for care.
The shooting remains under investigation and no further information has been provided.
