A man has been arrested in connection to the body that was found at a former iron ore mine pit.

Sgt. Luke Hendrickson of the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to the Duluth News Tribune and FOX 9 that a 19-year-old suspect was arrested in connection to the death of 20-year-old Jaysen Greenwood.

The suspect was booked into jail for probable cause second-degree murder Saturday night, jail records show. BringMeTheNews typically does not name people until they have been formally charged.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office had said it was investigating Greenwood's death as a homicide after his body was found Thursday morning in the Mott Pit area of Mountain Iron.

Officials used fingerprint analysis to identify Greenwood's body, the Hibbing Daily Tribune reports. The sheriff's office hasn't said how he died.

Friends are planning a memorial gathering for Greenwood on May 23 at 7 p.m. at Bennett Park in Hibbing, reported the Duluth News Tribune.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office in the investigation. If anyone has information about the incident, they're asked to contact the sheriff's office at 218-742-9825.
